Questions people ask
- How often is the tracker updated?
- Every day. BSJ's watch refreshes its copies of the lists each morning from the publishers' own files and APIs, and the tracker compares each new copy with the one before. Changes from before 12 October 2026 were read from each publisher's notices.
- Why does the tracker give counts for the SDN and Entity List, not names?
- Both lists can name individuals, and BSJ never publishes names of people. The tracker counts what was added, removed or updated and links OFAC's or the Federal Register's own page, where the entries are listed.
- Is something on this tracker banned for me?
- It depends on what the list does and who you are. The Covered List stops new FCC authorisations; Section 889 and FASCSA orders bind federal agencies and contractors; the Entity List controls exports; the SDN List blocks dealings by US persons. Each entry says what it means for owners, and the free checks answer for a specific company, address or product.
- What does "not verified" mean?
- That the watch could not confirm its copy of that list today, for example because the source could not be read. The tracker then says so instead of showing the list as current. Check that list at the source until it is verified again.
General information, not legal advice. BSJ Ventures publishes methods; it never publishes clients, cases or verdicts, and it claims no relationship with any agency or company named here. A listing is the publisher’s act, not ours.
